BOSTON -- A limousine in a funeral procession veered off a sidewalk, sending pedestrians running for cover on Saturday.NewsCenter 5’s Jim Morelli reported the funeral procession turned into a procession to area hospitals, after the limo broke formation and slammed into a Hyde Park sidewalk and a tree, injuring six people.
Watch Video“I was about four or five cars behind the family car, and I saw him veer to the right, and my question was, ‘Why is he parking?’” said family member Steve Milton.It’s a parking job for which the limo driver will have to do some explaining.The procession was headed to the cemetery to bury family member Leon Milton when the car went off the road.“My daughter called me and told me, ‘Mommy, everybody is laying out on the ground,” said Leslie Milton.Family members went from mourning the dead to worrying about the living.There was no official word on the condition of the family members Saturday evening.“Some have probably definitely broken bones that we know of, but most of them complained of leg problems,” said Steve Milton.“We solicit prayers and we solicit everyone who knows the Milton family to think about the Milton family at this time, and pray for the wellness of our seniors.”The limo driver appeared to be unhurt.
