Perhaps you have heard of Qi Gong, one of the oldest forms of exercise in the world. A local school is using it to help kids beat the stress of MCAS exams.

NewsCenter 5's Bianca de la Garza reported that Needham teacher Judith Torian is preparing students for the exam. Torian invited master Lee Holden to teach them the ancient practice.

Breathing exercises and flowing movements are meant to ease stress.

"Like our sports that we play and our tests, we have as much stress as regular grown-ups and their work," one student said.

"You clear stress and tension out of your body, get more energy, awaken healing energy in your body so you know how to heal more problems," Holden said.

Torian said that in his 20 years of teaching, she's seen stress levels rise.

"A lot of testing and the preparation for the testing takes a lot of time in our year," she said.
