German Couple Says They Are The Ones In Newly Released Video

BOSTON -- The mystery couple resembling Whitey Bulger and his girlfriend has been found – they are German.The couple was videotaped in a Sicilian resort by a vacationing Drug Enforcement Administration agent in April, and broadcasted on German television Wednesday night.The Boston Globe reported German authorities have confirmed it is not Bulger and his girlfriend, Catherine Greig."We have a German couple that are claiming that they are the individuals in that video from Taormina," said Gail Marcinkiewicz, a spokeswoman for the FBI.The FBI is awaiting verification, such as receipts to prove the German couple was in the area at the time the video was taken.Bulger, 78, fled Boston just before his indictment for federal racketeering charges in January 1995. He is on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List.The last confirmed sighting of Bulger was in London in 2002, according to the FBI.
