A jury in Ohio on Friday convicted a former police officer of murdering his pregnant lover and their unborn child.

Bobby Cutts was found not guilty, however, of aggravated murder charges in connection with Jessie Davis' killing.

Jurors had been sequestered at a hotel since Tuesday to consider three aggravated murder charges against Cutts.

He had been accused of intentionally killing Jessie Davis, terminating a pregnancy and causing the death of a viable, unborn child.

Bobby Cutts now faces a possible death sentence. He showed no visible reaction as the verdicts were read.

Cutts testified that he accidentally killed Davis by putting an elbow to her throat. But prosecutors said he strangled her to avoid paying more child support.

Investigators also had found the couple's 2-year-old son at home alone.

The toddler gave authorities their first clues in Davis' disappearance when he said, "Mommy's in the rug" and "Daddy's mad."

The ex-patrolman also was convicted of abuse of a corpse, burglary and child endangering.

Cutts has acknowledged dumping the body in a park, and telling authorities the location nine days later.
