BOSTON -- City officials were not laughing on Friday after an electronic device was found a city landmark one year after a marketing ploy left many thinking Boston was the target of a terrorist plot.

NewsCenter 5's Jack Harper reported that several light-up circuit boards were placed throughout the city as an advertisement for Cartoon Network's Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie.

Pranksters placed a similar device at Fenway Park on Friday. It was removed shortly after it was discovered.

"Folks who second-guessed us because we did go out there and do our work -- shame on them," Boston Mayor Tom Menino said.

A year ago, the devices were mistaken for explosives, and the city was paralyzed by fear. Peter Berdovsky and Sean Stevens admitted placing the devices throughout the city and were sentenced to community service for their parts in the stunt.

Turner Broadcasting System Inc., and its ad agency paid Boston $2 million to cover damages.

It is unclear who placed the device at Fenway on Friday.
