Police are searching for the man who robbed a Newton bank Monday afternoon.

Officials said that the Bank of America at 21 Boylston Street was robbed at about 2:10 p.m.

Police investigating the incident said that a Hispanic male entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The man made a reference about shooting, however no weapon was shown.

After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the man fled the bank.

The man is described as being in his late 20s to early 30s, brown skin, 5 feet 5 inches tall and having a jaw line beard with a Fu Manchu goatee. The suspect, who was wearing a blue baseball cap, was also described as having a Latino accent.

Anyone having any information is urged to contact the Newton Police Department Detective Bureau at 617-796-2104 or the “TIPS-LINE” at 617-796-2121.
