Police Looking For Several Boston-Area Bank Robbers

No Injuries Reported In Incidents

UPDATED: 5:56 pm EST January 3, 2008

Police in Westford are looking for two men they say robbed a Middlesex Savings Bank in that town on Wednesday.

At about 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, police said two men went into the Middlesex Savings Bank on Littleton Road, approached separate tellers and passed notes demanding cash and threatening violence if the teller did not comply. The bank tellers cooperated, Westford police said. No injuries were reported.

Both men fled on foot to a nearby parking lot, where a dark-colored Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed with two people inside, police said.

One robber was described as a white man in his late 40s to early 50s, approximately 5 foot 5 inches tall with blue eyes, dark hair and a gray mustache extending below the corners of his mouth. He was wearing a two-tone orange and black ski jacket with a hood, dark ski pants, hiking boots and a white baseball hat with a Houston Texans logo on the front, police said.

The second man was described as white and in his early to mid-40s, approximately 6 foot 2 inches tall with short dark hair and unshaven facial hair. He was wearing a dark leather jacket, white collarless shirt and a blue baseball hat, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery is urged to contact the Westford police at 978-692-2161.

A few hours later in Medford, a white man robbed the Eastern Bank at 410 Riverside Ave. in Medford at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. He passed a note to a teller telling them to put money in an envelope. Police said the man did not show a weapon.

Police said the man could be the same suspect wanted in connection with a Watertown bank robbery on Dec. 28. Police said the Medford and Watertown robber share similar physical features. Anyone with information about either the Medford or Watertown robberies is asked to contact Medford police at 781-391-6766.
