A Beverly, Mass., driver suffered some frightening moments Monday night after he got stuck on some train tracks with a train barreling toward him.

It happened about 8:30 p.m. in the Prides Crossing section of Beverly.

The man, Bill Kotsifas, made it out of his car just in the nick of time, right before the train crushed his car.

An MBTA representative said he actually drove around the gates.

"I came around the corner and I didn't want to turn too hard. The road was slippery and I ended up sliding out onto the tracks and I couldn't get it off. I put it into drive and tried to move it and just spun up more rocks and ended up getting stuck. Nice girl pulled over to try to help me. She got in and started to drive, I pushed, we didn't move. Last thing we know the train was on top of us. We ran out of the way and it smashed the back," Kotsifas said.

None of the 150 passengers on the train were injured.
