BOSTON -- Boston police shot and killed a man who led them on a chase after stealing a squad car.Police Superintendant Robert Dunford said officers found the man waving a gun in the middle of Fuller Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. He says the man was moving around as officers ordered him to drop the gun. He got into an empty police car that was left running.Police chased him for about five blocks before cornering him in a drug store parking lot.
Dunford says the officers shot the man when he ignored repeated commands to drop his gun.Police spokesman David Estrada says it hasn't been determined if the man fired at the officers.He said two other officers suffered non-lifethreatening injuries in auto accidents as they responded to the chase. No one else was reported hurt.
