BOSTON -- Three recent bank robberies in two states are connected, according to Gardner police.

Police said they compared pictures, motives and demand notes to link robberies that happened on Sept. 15 in Brattleboro, Vt., in Leominster on Aug. 26 and in Gardner on Nov. 7.

In all three robberies, the man carried a newspaper to hide the money after the robbery, police said.
