The numbers vary, but between two and three dozen people were arrested Sunday night in the Fenway Park area.

NewsCenter 5's Amalia Barreda reported that police in riot gear with K-9 units responded to the area in an effort to maintain order and tried to get the crowd to disperse without incident. Those who police say didn't cooperate were before a judge Monday at Roxbury District Court.

A subdued parade of young men, mostly college students, were arraigned. They were charged with disorderly conduct or inciting a riot. Some said that they were mistreated at the hands of the police.

"Got tackled from behind by three riot cops. They let me go. I started to walk away. Three riot cops tackled me from behind again. Dragged me along the ground. Yelled at me. Threw me into a bus," said John Shaw, who was arrested Monday night.

"I got pushed into the crowd, and a cop grabbed me from behind and threw me on the ground, stepped on my head and cuffed me with regular cuffs. I wasn't doing anything out of order," said Derek Gogg, who was arrested Monday night.

Video shot after the game shows mobs of revelers, some clearly out of control. Several police officers in riot gear jumped on one man to subdue and arrest him. Elsewhere, Boston firefighters put out small fires started by the crazed crowd.

Around the corner from Fenway Park on Monday, cars had dented hoods and rooftops and smashed windshields. An apartment house manager, who did not want to be identified, talked about the party getting ugly.

"Some of the males jumped over the fences and into the lawns and the shrubs, urinating into the shrubs, urinating into the window wells of the tenants who live inside those apartments," he said.

In court, James Putnam admitted he threw a beer can at police, for which he spent the night in jail.

"I'd had a little too much to drink, you know," he said. "It wasn't a good idea."
