One person was shot in Jamaica Plain on Thursday near a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Station.

NewsCenter 5's Jorge Quiroga reported that the incident happened near the Forest Hills Station at about 3 p.m. Two brothers were driving in a green pickup when they were shot at multiple times. One of the men was shot in the chest several times.

Police said that they arrested three men and recovered a gun believed to be used in the attack.

Witnesses said that the truck turned off Washington Street onto Woodlawn Street when it suddenly went into reverse.

"We saw it going in reverse real fast, and I noticed when it was going on reverse real fast that the tires were burning rubber and smoking," witness Steve McNeil said.

The vehicle ran over a lamppost.

"I saw the victim. He was running. He fell and hit the floor and got up. Then he ran into a store," witness Steve Smith said.

The man ran into a chiropractic clinic where he had an appointment.

"All of a sudden we saw one of our patients come in with blood all over his shirt, and we didn’t know what to think of it. He said he got shot," Dr. Steve Ropasso said.

The victim was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
