Police were investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood early Wednesday.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that detectives were gathering evidence on the Jamaicaway near the intersection of Perkins Street, where the victim's silver-gray truck was parked.

Police said an unidentified white man in his 30s died of stab wounds to the chest.

State police were initially called on reports of a man staggering in the road just after 1 a.m. They found the victim bleeding on the ground outside his truck. He was rushed to Brigham & Women's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
