Should ice cream truck music be banned?
One sound of summer may soon be silenced in Boston.

City Councilors are one step closer to banning the music that blares from ice cream trucks, according to the Boston Herald.

They announced plans Monday to meet with Boston police and Inspectional Services Department to come up with a way to regulate noise ordinances already on the books.

Ice cream truck drivers said the music is necessary to attract business.
