The fire that destroyed a longtime favorite restaurant in Waltham has been ruled accidental.

Flames destroyed Sal's Restaurant on Main Street early Sunday morning.

Fire investigators said the blaze started under the take-out counter and may have been caused by either an electrical malfunction or a natural gas leak.

The owner has not decided if he'll rebuild.
