BOSTON -- Boston Police said there may be a link between two separate weekend shootings that sent a 9-year old girl and four teens to the hospital. One of the injured teen victims is reportedly in the intensive care unit Monday morning. The girl and two teens were shot outside a birthday party on Wilmore Street in the city's Mattapan neighborhood Saturday night. Officials said party-goers were gathered outside the home when someone walked up and opened fire. All of the victims were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Police Commissioner Ed Davis said his officers are focusing on known gang members who they believe are connected to the shooting. Just a short distance away from the birthday party shootings, authorities said two teens were shot on Glenarm Street. Their injuries were not serious. Police were also looking for that shooter.
