Liquor Store Robbed At Gunpoint

Officials Searching For Two Men

Newton police are investigating an armed robbery at a liquor store.

Officials said that two men walked into All-Star Liquor at 1220 Chestnut St. at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday. According to the store clerk, one of men pointed a gun at the woman and demanded that she open the register. He allegedly grabbed money and stuffed the cash into a bag.

The second suspect allegedly struck another store employee on the forehead with a liquor bottle.

Officials said both men fled the sore and were last seen getting into an older model red vehicle.

The employee who was struck received a laceration and bruise to his forehead and face. He was treated at the scene.

One man was black, 25 to 35 years of age, 6 feet tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a hooded red sweatshirt. The second man was black, 25 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches, small build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
