Officers Respond To 911 Call

Quincy police shot an unidentified man at a house on Grandview Avenue in Quincy early Tuesday morning after receiving a 911 call to the residence.

NewsCenter 5's Jack Harper reported that the police answered the call about 10 a.m. and were confronted by a man with a knife in the back of the house.

According to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office, the man was shot by police. He was taken, alive, to a local hospital where he later died, the police chief told NewsCenter 5. There was no word on his identity.

The district attorney's office will be investigating the case to determine if police employed a proper use of force.
