State police are investigating another attack along Boston's Charles River Esplanade.

Troopers said a woman and a child she was caring for were both sexually assaulted Tuesday afternoon while playing at an Esplanade playground.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that police arrested a 23-year-old New York man in connection with the case. He was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court on assault and battery charges.

Earlier this month, a woman jogging along the Esplanade reported being sexually assaulted late on a Saturday night after a concert on the Hatch Shell.

At this point, police aren't sure if the two attacks are related.
