A drug suspect will be arraigned on attempted murder charges Friday morning after a police shoot-out that sent innocent bystanders running for cover.

Shoppers at the Danvers Lowe's were forced to duck for cover Thursday night as police tried to stop an alleged drug dealer.

Danvers and Peabody detectives had the parking lot under surveillance and just before 7 p.m. the black SUV they were waiting for drove up.

Police said they tried to stop the vehicle but the driver refused, dragging two officers as he tried to take off.

Police claimed that's when they fired 10 rounds at the SUV.

A silver SUV parked 100 yards away got caught up in the crossfire. Nobody was inside.

The suspect was not injured and was arrested as soon as he got out of his vehicle.

The two detectives involved suffered minor injuries.
