A woman was arrested in Everett on Thursday accused of breaking into a home while taking her 16-month-old daughter for a walk.

NewsCenter 5's Sean Kelly reported that when Stacy Russo, 26, was arrested, police said they found stolen goods in a compartment of the stroller.

Eleanor Alba said her home was burglarized on Thursday.

"I opened the front door and I heard some noise in the bedroom," she said.

At first, Alba said she thought her son was visiting.

"All of a sudden, the girl ran out of the room and headed for the hall," Alba said. "She came out and I tried to grab her and she got away."

Alba said the woman broke into her home through an unlocked pantry window.

"She was a little skinny bit of a thing," Alba said.

"The child was actually left at the back of the home. She brought the child up to the back of the home. She had the child there, went into the home, did her thing and went back out," said Everett Police Sgt. Larry Jedrey.

Alba said Russo put the stolen goods into a compartment in the stroller and fled.

"(Russo) had a hammer, screw driver -- a couple of screw drivers and a hammer. We do have a history with her, yes," Jedrey said.

Department of Social Services was called and the child was turned over to her father.
