LAWRENCE, Mass. -- Military officials in Iraq have confirmed that the identity of the body found floating in the Euphrates River this week is not that of a Massachusetts serviceman. The soldier was identified as Pfc. Joseph Anzack Jr. of California. This news means the family of a Alex Jimenez is holding out hope that he is still alive. NewsCenter 5's Steve Lacy reported that the search continues in Iraq for the remaining two kidnapped soldiers taken with Anzack on May 12 during an ambush on their unit south of Baghdad. Still missing are Pvt. Byron Fouty, 19, of Waterford, Mich. and Spc. Alex Jimenez, 25, of Lawrence, Mass.Many in the city of Lawrence have come together to pray for Jimenez' safe return."Obviously our hearts right now are centered on the Jimenez family, that God may give them peace and strength," Rev. Jorge Reyes of Lawrence's St. Mary's Church said.Students in 20 schools across the city have placed yellow ribbons in their windows, and a yellow ribbon remains on the front door of Jimenez' father's home. He remains in Fort Drum, N.Y., his son's home base, waiting for news."He keeps asking people to pray for Alex and the other soldiers," family friend Wendy Luzon said.The soldiers were members of 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Brigade combat team.The 10th Mountain Division, based in Fort Drum, N.Y., has spearheaded a search that has included 4,000 U.S. troops and 2,000 Iraqis.Two soldiers, not yet identified, have died in the search. Temperatures in the country are in excess of 110 degrees.
