A second man has been charged in the rape of a woman behind an Ashland Market Basket last month.

Edwin Landaverde, 26, was ordered held on $50,000 bail.

Police said Landaverde and a friend, William Martinez, encountered an 18-year-old woman while she walked through the Pond Street parking lot near the store.

Police said Martinez pulled her into a car and held a knife to her throat while Landaverde raped her.

Martinez was charged earlier this week.

Both men are scheduled to return to court on June 4.
