The body of a missing Massachusetts Institute of Technology student was found washed ashore in Bourne, Mass.

Daniel Barclay, 22, has been missing for 12 days, officials said. His body was identified on Friday.

Barclay's last known contact was just before midnight on April 8 when he e-mailed some classmates.

Cape Cod District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said there were no immediate signs of trauma or foul play. Barclay's mother reportedly said her son's autopsy revealed that he drowned. An inflatable raft was found near the body, officials said.

Barclay was last seen in his room at Ashdown House at MIT, where he hosted a party the night before he disappeared.

According to published reports, Barclay took his cell phone and wallet but left behind his credit cards.

Barclay was a member of MIT's debate team and was working with a toy manufacturer on a design he developed in school.

Barclay was a senior at MIT and was studying political science.
