The 20-year-old Saugus man killed in the Virginia Tech shootings was remembered by a large group of friends on Facebook.com Tuesday.

Ross Alameddine was described as an "intelligent, funny, easy going guy who will be greatly missed. His kindness knew few limits and we are all less without him."

"Ross was such a great guy. Always willing to surrender his silly jokes. My best memories are of his crazy legs on the dance floor and his quirky smile. I wish it wasn't real," wrote Jacqui Vander Moss.

Many of the postings were from classmates who attended high school with him at Austin Preparatory School in Reading, Mass.

"Wow Ross I can't believe this happened. Your were an amazing person, so smart. We had french together for 4 years, still remember exactly were u sat," wrote a former classmate.

"My prayers and thoughts will always be with you. God took you because he needed your knowledge and intelligence that you've carried with you since the day you were born," added another.

His friends wrote that they have been hit hard by his death and many said they had difficulty finding the words to express their feelings about the tragedy.

"We were following the news all day yesterday and praying for his safety and for those who fell and for their families. Our thoughts were: what are the odds? There are 25,000 students at that university. But still we were worried because he did not call his mother all day although she left him several messages," wrote Anwar Ceukar, of Boston.

Several of his Virginia Tech classmates added to the postings.

"Ross, class just won't be the same without your hilarious non-sequiters. I love you man. Rest in peace," wrote Bryan Griffith.
