Police Say Parents Told Son Not To Speak

STORRS, Conn. -- The focusing in the investigation into fatal hit-and-run on the University of Connecticut campus has turned to the parents of the accused driver.Attorneys in western New York are investigating whether Anthony Alvino and his wife, Donna, tried to cover up their son's alleged role in the crash last month.Carlee Wines, 19, of Manalapan, N.J., was struck while walking in a campus crosswalk on Jan. 20. She died at Hartford Hospital two days later.Police said the Alvinos told their son "Not to say a word to anyone" about the crash.Earlier this week, authorities arrested a third person in the investigation. Police arrested UConn student Kara Satalin, 18, on suspicion of buying alcohol for Alvino and UConn freshman Michele A. Hall, two 18-year-olds who were charged last week in connection with the crash.
