STORRS, Conn. -- A Syracuse, N.Y., woman is the third person arrested in connection with last month's hit-and-run death of a University of Connecticut freshman.Police arrested 18-year-old UConn student Kara Satalin on suspicion of buying alcohol for two 18-year-olds who were charged last week in connection with the crash.Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Len Bestoff reported that Satalin turned herself in to police Sunday night.Satalin was charged with purchasing alcohol for a minor, conspiracy to procure liquor for a minor, misrepresentation of age to procure liquor, third-degree identity theft and conspiracy to commit third-degree identity theft.Satalin, according to an arrest affidavit, allegedly bought three to four bottles of vodka at a liquor store on Jan. 19 for Anthony P. Alvino and UConn freshman Michele A. Hall and others. Satalin acquired a driver's license from Hall, who said the woman in the photo resembled Satalin.Police said Satalin was not in the vehicle."Satalin was identified as one of the people who were involved in some of the actions prior to the accident in this particular case," said Maj. Ron Bilcher of UConn Police. "The purchase of the alcohol that was consumed by the occupants of the vehicle."She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on Feb. 27.Police said more arrests are expected to come from off-campus."At least some of the arrests coming are still of people who were not in the vehicle at the time of the incident," Blicher said."I have no idea how anyone could possibly keep that under wraps. I would feel so guilty I would probably come forward the next day," said UConn graduate student Steve Proulx.Nineteen-year-old Carlee Wines, of Manalapan, N.J., was struck while walking in a campus crosswalk on Jan. 20. Wines died at Hartford Hospital two days later.
