Funeral services were held Tuesday for a soldier killed in the line of duty.

NewsCenter 5's Jack Harper reported that Sgt. Alexander Fuller died in Baghdad.

Family and friends said goodbye to the 21-year-old at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis, Mass. His wife, 19-year-old Stacey, is pregnant with the couple's first child, a little girl due in April.

"They expressed the love that he had not only for his wife, Stacey, but for everybody -- for mankind. He was always happy-go-lucky," veteran Henry Bradley said. "His brother got up, and he was completely broken down trying to say how he felt and how much he loved him. It was a moving moment for the family."

Bradley said it seems the younger they fall, the harder it hits.

"They are too young to be in this position, for the brother to know this death, for Alex to die, but he did it for his country," Bradley said.

Stacey Fuller said her husband passed on a desk job. He believed in the fight, but wanted most of all to be home for the baby.

"There were a lot of tears in the eyes. There were a lot of people very solemn, but they had that look of pride in what he had done," Bradley said.

The family has established the Alexander Fuller Memorial Fund at Rockland Trust in Centerville, Mass., to benefit his unborn child.
