The Coast Guard is searching off the coast of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, for a missing Newburyport, Mass., fishing vessel with two crew members on board.

The Lady Luck sent out a distress signal at 2 a.m. Thursday, according to officials.

A helicopter assisting in the search located debris and an oil sheen in the area of the vessel's last known location. The source of the debris and oil sheen is unknown.

An HU-25 Falcon Jet arrived at the scene at 4:30 a.m. and dropped a life raft near the vessel's last known location, after locating the flashing light from the emergencey beacon. Neither the Lady Luck nor it's crew were located during the Falcon's search. Several other aircraft and Coast Guard Cutters were on their way to the scene early Thursday morning.

The Canadian Coast Guard is also assisting in the search.

Several commercial fishing vessels in the area are also helping in the search.

The weather conditions in the vessel's last known location were 10-knot winds and 4-foot seas with a water temperature of 40 degrees.
