SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- Police in Somerville, Mass., were searching for whoever pulled off six robberies in just one day.NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that it all began around 2 p.m. Monday and continued for several hours.A Dunkin' Donuts in Davis Square was one of many businesses that were targeted, as was a Shaw's supermarket in the Twin City Mall. About 5 p.m. another Dunkin' Donuts on Somerville Ave. was robbed and a Union Square market on Bose Street was also robbed a short time later.Around 7 p.m. the Central Variety Store on Medford Street was hit by two suspects brandishing a knife. A few minutes later another Dunkin Donuts in Davis Square was hit and the last stop was a Walgreen's store near Inman Square in Cambridge. The suspect demanded drugs but left without getting any.The robber, police said, made his getaways in a taxi cab after entering the stores and demanding cash after claiming to have a weapon. He was described as a white, heavyset male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a scarf pulled over his chin.
