A judge Tuesday denied Neil Entwistle's motion to be released on bail as he awaits trial in connection with the deaths of his wife and baby daughter.

Judge Peter Lauriat ordered that Entwistle will remain in prison pending trial. Defense attorney Elliot Weinstein asked the Middlesex Superior Court to release the Hopkinton man on bail, offering his parents home in England as collateral for his release.

Entwistle, 28, is accused of shooting his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Lillian, who was 9 months old, in January.

Under the conditions of Entwistle's release proposed by the defense, he would have been confined to their home and would wear a global positioning device to track his movements.

The prosecution said that the motion was unrealistic and unreliable.
