CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A pipe connection burst at a Best Buy at the CambridgeSide Galleria on Tuesday sending water gushing into the store.NewsCenter 5's Shiba Russell reported that most of the damage was to the Cambridge store's rug, and a number of CDs were destroyed.A connector to a water pipe that feeds the store's sprinkler system broke at about 4:30 a.m. Hundreds of gallons of water filled the store and gushed into the parking lot of the mall."You can definitely look in and see a reflection of the lights off the ground," one witness said.The store manager said that he had about 6 inches of water on the first floor of the store.Cambridge water crews had to dig up a section of the road to repair the mess.Officials said that the store would be closed for a few days to repair the damage. The rest of the CambridgeSide Galleria remained open.
