A pipe connection burst at a Best Buy at the CambridgeSide Galleria on Tuesday sending water gushing into the store.

NewsCenter 5's Shiba Russell reported that most of the damage was to the Cambridge store's rug, and a number of CDs were destroyed.

A connector to a water pipe that feeds the store's sprinkler system broke at about 4:30 a.m. Hundreds of gallons of water filled the store and gushed into the parking lot of the mall.

"You can definitely look in and see a reflection of the lights off the ground," one witness said.

The store manager said that he had about 6 inches of water on the first floor of the store.

Cambridge water crews had to dig up a section of the road to repair the mess.

Officials said that the store would be closed for a few days to repair the damage. The rest of the CambridgeSide Galleria remained open.
