Officials in Wrentham are trying to find out how a student allegedly brought a gun into King Phillip Regional High School.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that many of the students were upset that they weren't informed about the situation.

"A kid with a gun and nobody's telling us anything," student Sarah Clark said.

Clark said she still doesn't know a lot about what happened except that a student brought a gun to school and put it in his locker. They said he was bragging about it and at least two students saw it, but by the time school administrators learned about it and contacted police, the student had left the school.

Police said it didn't take long to find him. He crashed his grandfather's pickup truck on a winding road in neighboring Plainville, Mass., and the gun was inside the truck. They learned the student had allegedly brought the gun to school and had made some kind of threat that went unreported.

Students said more precautions need to be taken.

"Put metal detectors in every entrance," one student said.

Plainville Police said the juvenile was being held on a probation violation from a Rhode Island juvenile facility. The 15-year-old was arrested on motor vehicle violations, including driving without license, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was arraigned in juvenile court Monday.

The teen has a court hearing scheduled for Dedham Juvenile Court Nov. 29.
