Authorities in Marion said they have arrested a man they believe set fire to the home of his estranged wife early Tuesday.

William Sprag will be arraigned later Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Officials said they think Sprag set the fire at 760 Mill St. and then took off.

Firefighters responded to the house fire before 7 a.m.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that a woman and her son, who were inside the house, escaped safely. A dog had to be rescued from the burning dwelling, which was completely destroyed in the blaze, which investigators said was deliberately set.

Authorities said they were searching for Sprag, the woman's estranged husband, for questioning in connection with the fire. They said he has violated several restraining orders in the past. His car was found in a nearby parking lot, they said.
