NEW BEDFORD, Mass. -- Two off-duty New Bedford police officers were hit by the driver of a sport utility vehicle outside a strip club Monday night.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that the incident occurred near closing time at the Foxy Lady nightclub on Route 6 when the officers were hit.

Both were struck while standing in the parking lot, and the driver of the vehicle then fled.

Both officers were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their conditions.
