Extra police officers are patrolling Silver Lake High School in Kingston on Thursday after threats were made against one of the school's sports teams.

NewsCenter 5's Steve Lacy reported that police are still trying to identify two people who allegedly made two threats against the freshman football team -- a woman between 30 and 40 years of age and a female teenager.

"Most of us, like, I talked to a couple of my friends and we didn't think it is very safe for us to go to school today just in case something did happen," freshman Peter Burke said.

Police said the school secretary received a telephone threat against the freshman football team at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the call came from a nearby convenience store. A second threat against the team was allegedly made to a church official about an hour after the phone call was received.

Kingston police and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department were at the school on Thursday to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. It is unclear if the teen attends the school.

"It is scary, and we, like, don’t know what is going to happen. I don't know. It's scary," sophomore Mariah Grispi said.

All of Thursday's after school activities were canceled. The freshman football game originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5, has been postponed to Thursday, Oct. 12, at Hanover High School. The varsity football game originally scheduled for Friday night has been postponed until Saturday at 10 a.m.
