New Jersey Nets (0-13) At Denver Nuggets (9-4), 9 P.M.

(Sports Network) - When you are 0-13, the last thing you need is a west coast road trip but that's exactly the mountain Lawrence Frank's hapless New Jersey Nets find in front of them.

The Nets kick off a four-game trek against the Denver Nuggets in the Rocky Mountains on Tuesday night before moving on to face Portland, Sacramento and the Los Angeles Lakers. A winless trip and the Nets will match the worst start in NBA history at 0-17, joining the 1988-89 expansion Miami Heat and 1999 LA Clippers.

The Nets' most recent setback took place on Saturday in New Jersey when Danilo Gallinari and Al Harrington each scored 17 points, as the New York Knicks held on to defeat the Nets, 98-91. The loss extended the worst start in franchise history.

New Jersey fell despite getting star guard Devin Harris back in the lineup. Harris had not played since October 30 because of a groin injury and came off the bench to score 12 points in a little under 26 minutes.

Chris Douglas-Roberts connected on 11-of-19 shots to pace the Nets with 24 points, while Brook Lopez had 18 points, 12 boards and four blocks in the loss.

The Nets' 13-game slide is the worst in franchise history since a 14-game skid in 1990.

The Nuggets improved to a perfect 5-0 at home on Saturday when Carmelo Anthony, the NBA's leading scorer at 30.5 points per game, just missed a triple-double, finishing with 30 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, as Denver used a big fourth quarter to upend Chicago, 112-93.

J.R. Smith scored 12 of his 19 points in the final stanza, which Denver won, 37-22. Chauncey Billups chipped in 21 points, and Nene had 10 points and nine boards for the Nuggets, who rebounded from a loss to the Clippers on Friday.

"It was a tough win for us...coming off a tough, tough loss," Billups said. "We were having some carryover from the tough loss, then we were able to take control of the game and really rout that team."

Dating back to last season Denver has won 15 straight regular season games at the Pepsi Center, last losing to Houston, 97-95, on March 9. Meanwhile, the Nuggets have won five of their past six games with the Nets.
