Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard scored 25 points -- 17 in a dominant third quarter -- and the Orlando Magic responded from their first loss with a 122-100 rout of the Phoenix Suns, who had started their season with four straight wins. Ryan Anderson contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds -- seven offensive boards -- for the Magic, who outscored the Suns, 34-26, in the third and improved their record to 4-1. Jameer Nelson added 16 points and 10 assists, while Mickael Pietrus had 15 points in the win. Orlando was red-hot from beyond the arc, shooting 12-for-23, compared to the Suns, who went just 7-of-22. Amare Stoudemire led Phoenix with 25 points and 14 rebounds, but the Suns failed in their attempt to go 5-0 for the first time since 1984-85. Steve Nash, who had 50 assists in the team's first four games, had just four to go with 12 points on Wednesday. Jared Dudley and Goran Dragic came off the bench to add 17 and 15 points, respectively, for Phoenix.

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Chris Bosh scored a team-high 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as the Toronto Raptors earned a 110-99 win over the Detroit Pistons at Air Canada Centre. Andrea Bargnani turned in a solid performance with 22 points and a game-best 12 boards for the Raptors, who recovered after dropping a 125-116 decision to Orlando on Monday. Toronto has split its first four games of the young season. Hedo Turkoglu added 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Ben Gordon went for a game-high 30 points, while Charlie Villanueva chipped in with 16 points and seven boards for Detroit, which earned an 85-80 at Orlando on Wednesday. Rodney Stuckey had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the 2-3 Pistons.

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade went for 40 points and hit the go-ahead bucket with 24.6 seconds remaining in the game, as Miami pulled out a 93-89 victory over Washington. Quentin Richardson chipped in 19 points and nine rebounds, while Udonis Haslem came off the bench for 13 and seven for the Heat, who were coming off their first loss of the season on Tuesday against Phoenix. Gilbert Arenas paced the Wizards with 32 points. Brendan Haywood added 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Caron Butler recorded a double- double as well with 13 and 10 in the team's second straight loss.

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Rookie Ty Lawson scored a game-high 23 points and Carmelo Anthony donated 22, as the Denver Nuggets cruised to an easy 122-94 win over the New Jersey Nets at the IZOD Center. Kenyon Martin went for 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Nene added 16 points and nine boards for Denver, which improved to a perfect 5-0 this season. It is the Nuggets best start since the 1985-86 squad won its first six contests. Arron Afflalo logged 15 points. Chris Douglas-Roberts had 19 points and seven rebounds for the Nets, who dropped to 0-5. It is their worst start since the 1996-97 squad under head coach John Calipari lost as many to begin a campaign. Eduardo Najera and Brook Lopez registered 14 and 12 points, respectively, for New Jersey.

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Danny Granger led five Pacers in double figures with 21 points, as Indiana used a big fourth quarter to earn its first win of the season, a 101-89 victory over the Knicks. Dahntay Jones contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Roy Hibbert notched 15 and 14 for the Pacers, who had lost their first three games of the season. Brandon Rush added 12 points while pulling down 10 off the glass, and T.J. Ford ended with 16 points in the win. David Lee grabbed 19 boards to go with 20 points for the Knicks, who missed their last 12 shots from the floor in their fourth loss in five games to open the year. Al Harrington recorded a team-high 22 points with nine boards in defeat.

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Rajon Rondo had 18 points and six assists, as the Boston Celtics hung on to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 92-90, to remain unbeaten for the 2009-10 season. Ray Allen added 14 points and five assists for the Celtics, who are 6-0 for the second time in three years. Boston went 8-0 two seasons ago, when it won its first title since 1986. Kevin Garnett, the former franchise player in Minnesota, contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Kendrick Perkins had 13 points, and Paul Pierce 10 for the Celtics. Oleksiy Pecherov had a career-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting for the T'Wolves, who have lost four straight since winning their season opener. Pecherov scored 15 points in the second half and demolished his old career high by nine points. Al Jefferson added 18 points, and Corey Brewer had 13 in defeat. Jonny Flynn scored 10 points and dished out five assists for Minnesota.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant carried the Lakers on his back with 41 points and six rebounds, but it was Andrew Bynum's foul shots late in overtime that gave Los Angeles a 103-102 victory over the Houston Rockets. Bynum, who hit 3-of-4 at the line inside 44.2 seconds left in OT, had 17 points and 17 rebounds for the Lakers, who have won three in a row. Ron Artest poured in 15 points and grabbed six rebounds against his former team. Lamar Odom added 14 points and seven rebounds for Los Angeles, which beat Houston in seven games in the Western Conference semifinals last year. Luis Scola tallied 16 points and 13 boards for the Rockets, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Carl Landry had 20 points and eight boards off the bench. Trevor Ariza ended with 15 points, nine rebounds, and five assists versus his former club while Aaron Brooks finished with 15 points and six helpers. Shane Battier and Charles Hayes each added 14 points. Hayes also had 14 rebounds.

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Chris Paul poured in a game-high 39 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds, as the New Orleans Hornets took down the Dallas Mavericks, 114-107, in overtime at New Orleans Arena. David West added 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who snapped a brief two-game skid. Bobby Brown ended with 18 points off the bench, and Emeka Okafor finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds for the victors. Jason Terry paced Dallas with 35 points off the bench, and Erick Dampier tallied 16 points and 14 boards for the Mavericks, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Dirk Nowitzki had 12 points and five rebounds in defeat.

Final Score: Atlanta 113, Sacramento 105

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Jamal Crawford provided a spark off the bench, scoring 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting, as the Atlanta Hawks continued a four-game road trip with a 113-105 win over the Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena. Crawford, acquired in an offseason trade with Golden State, made 3- of-5 from beyond the arc for the Hawks, who have won four of five to start the season. Joe Johnson also scored 26 points and added eight rebounds in the win. Josh Smith provided 14 points, while Mike Bibby and Marvin Williams each had 13 for the victors. Kevin Martin, coming off a 48-point performance on Monday, scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Kings, who have lost four of five this season. Jason Thompson had 22 points -- one off his career-high -- and 12 boards in the loss. Rookie Tyreke Evans provided 15 points, while Andres Nocioni and Beno Udrih both had 14 in defeat.

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Anthony Morrow and Monta Ellis totaled 24 points apiece, and the Golden State Warriors earned their first win of the season in a 113-105 final against the Memphis Grizzlies. Morrow was an efficient 10-of-12 from the floor and hit all four of his three-point attempts while Ellis was 10-of-23 shooting and handed out a game-high 12 assists. Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette each added 20 points for the Warriors, who moved to 1-2 on the young season. Rudy Gay posted 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds for the Grizzlies, who lost their third in a row and are now 1-4 this season. Embattled guard Allen Iverson came off the bench for the second time in as many games since his season debut, logging 27 1/2 minutes and scoring 18 points to go with seven assists.
