Police Investigate I-495 Traffic Death
Pedestrian Killed Near Exit In Marlborough, Troopers Say

BOSTON -- State police troopers were investigating a traffic death on Interstate 495 south in Marlborough early Monday, closing several lanes of traffic while they looked into the fatal crash.More Traffic InfoOfficers said there was a crash about 5:30 a.m. involving a male pedestrian and a vehicle south of exit 23C. The pedestrian, in his 40s, was pronounced deceased by responding EMS personnel.Police could not determine what the victim was doing in the roadway and said they had not found any car the victim may have been driving.The lanes of the highway were closed until 10 a.m. while the investigation proceeded and at one point traffic was backed up for 17 miles.The identity of the pedestrian was not immediately released until the family could be notified.State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s office are asking for the public’s help with the investigation.Anyone traveling on I-495 in the overnight hours that may have seen something unusual is asked to call the State Police at 508-832-9124.
