BOSTON -- A Westborough teacher was charged in U.S. District Court Wednesday with possession of child pornography.
Teacher Faces Child Porn Charges Federal investigators said Brian Rossi, 36, a physical education teacher at Sarah Gibbons Middle School in Westborough, knowingly possessed multiple images of pre-pubescent boys engaged in sexually explicit conduct.The investigation began when INTERPOL in Berne, Switzerland, notified Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials that a large number Internet users had downloaded videos that allegedly depicted child pornography. Further investigation revealed that one of the IP addresses used to download these videos was a Verizon IP address associated with Rossi. When agents searched Rossi's Milford home, they found images of child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan's office."Probably one of the most disturbing things to us is that there were no red flags apparent to his colleagues, to his administrators," Westborough Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Anne Towle said.Rossi has been put on administrative leave and was issued a no trespass order, according to a letter sent home to parents from the Westborough Public Schools."Our school resource officer will be on the premises of the middle school (on Thursday) for anything that may come up, or if kids feel that they need to talk to him, he will also be available," said Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon.If convicted, Rossi faces up to 10 years in prison, followed by at least five years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
