NEW BEDFORD, Mass. -- The New Bedford Police Department asked for the public's help Tuesday in its search for a missing New Bedford elementary school teacher.

Sheryl Grace Duncan, 38, of New Bedford, was last seen Monday driving her 2007 Chrysler Pacifica, navy blue in color, bearing Massachusetts registration 227VRD.

Duncan is a wife and mother of two young children. Police said she is a well-known teacher and “left without warning or provocation.”

Police said Duncan's name has been entered into a national law enforcement database as being "wanted as a missing person." Duncan has "ties that span throughout New England, into Maryland and as far as San Antonio, Texas," police said.

They asked anyone with information to contact New Bedford Police.
