BOSTON -- A man wanted in connection with the kidnapping of his 7-year-old daughter traveled to New York to pick up a boat he recently purchased, Boston police announced Monday.
Video | IMAGES: Missing Girl An Amber Alert issued Sunday in Massachusetts was discontinued Monday morning when Boston police received credible information that Clark Rockefeller, along with his daughter, Reigh, has moved on to Long Island to pick up his boat "Serenity."Investigators said Reigh was allegedly abducted by Clark Rockefeller during a supervised parental visit in the city's Back Bay neighborhood on Sunday. It was the first time he saw his daughter since the couple's divorce in December, officials said."Clark Rockefeller, who was carrying his daughter, attempted to put his daughter down between two vehicles when a black SUV pulled up," Boston Police Department Superintendent Bruce Holloway said. "At that time, Rockefeller grabbed his daughter and jumped into the SUV, which was being operated by a white male driver."Boston Police investigators received information that father and daughter may have been dropped off near Grand Central Station in New York City at approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday.Boston police are working with local, state and federal authorities in New York to continue the search. Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Rockefeller, 48, of Boston, charging him with custodial kidnapping, assault and battery and assault and battery dangerous weapon.Detectives have set up a search command post at Boston's posh Four Seasons hotel, where the girl and her mother, Sandra Boss, 41, were staying after flying to Boston from London for the visit.Police continue to look for a black sport utility vehicle that was involved in the incident. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon or Denali with a Red Sox license plate and Red Sox stickers on the window. That vehicle is still believed to be in the area.Clark Rockefeller is also known as J.P. Clark Rockefeller, James Frederick, Clark Mill Rockefeller and Michael Brown.Four years ago, a New Hampshire newspaper questioned Clark Rockefeller as to if he was related to the famed Rockefeller family. He told The Valley News, "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not; it's not something that I would either confirm or deny."He went on to say that he didn't "want anything to do with the whole question."Clark Rockefeller was described in the Amber Alert as being a white male in his 50s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 pounds with thinning blond hair, and was last seen wearing khaki pants and a blue Izod shirt.The girl has blond hair and blue eyes, is about 4 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink and white sundress with red shoes."Her legal name is Reigh Storrow Boss. Again, she goes by the nickname of Snooks. Her mother calls her Snooks. She speaks with a English accent and wears glasses," Boston Police Department Deputy Thomas Lee said.Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Boston police by calling 911 or District D-4 detectives at 617-343-4683.
