BOSTON -- An aeronautics specialist was held on bail Thursday after he was accused of groping a teenage girl on a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority subway, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.Virgil Baloescu, 60, was charged with indecent assault and battery on suspicion of groping a 15-year-old girl on an MBTA Green Line train headed inbound at Boylston Station. He pleaded not guilty and was held on $10,000.Transit Police responded to the station Wednesday at about 7:45 p.m. to find the victim visibly shaken and crying. She reported that she felt the man's hands on her buttocks as she had her back to him -- a statement corroborated by three independent witnesses who also spoke with Transit Police."By coming forward, this young woman protected not just herself, but also other teens who could have been victimized," Conley said.In addition to recommending the high bail, Assistant District Attorney Kate Ferguson recommended that Baloescu be ordered to surrender his passport.Baloescu is scheduled to return to court on June 5.
