A 3-year-old child was found wandering the streets of Roxbury early Sunday morning, police said.

Someone called police after seeing the child near a convenience store on Huntington Avenue around 3 a.m.

The child’s mother reported the child missing an hour later, police said.

The mother told police she left the child with her 18-year-old daughter Saturday night, and returned home to find the front door open and the child missing.

Police said the boy was taken to Children’s Hospital Boston, and then reunited with his mother.

The Department of Social Services is investigating.
