BOSTON -- Lynn Classical high school was placed in lockdown Friday afternoon after gunshots were fired and shell casings were found on Holyoke Street near the school.

Police responded to a report of a person with a rifle in the area of the school just before 3 p.m.

NewsCenter 5's Mary Saladna reported that two suspects fled after the shooting and were later captured by police.

Police said students were never in any danger and were released classroom by classroom an hour later. Saladna reported that the incident was gang-related.
