BOSTON -- The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday has grown to $225 million. The cash option on this prize is $143 million.

The multistate game jackpot soared after no one hit the $181 million jackpot on Tuesday.

Mega Millions is played in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

The odds of hitting the jackpot are approximately 1 in 175 million.
