Would you eat a chocolate bar with 60 milligrams caffeine?
If you need more than a sugar rush to get you through the afternoon, the Mars Snackfoods Co. may have come up with a candy bar for you.

Mars announced Wednesday that it is launching a new Snickers chocolate bar that contains 60 milligrams of caffeine. The company is calling it "Snickers Charged."

They say in comparison, a soft drink contains 20 to 30 milligrams of caffeine, a cup of coffee contains 95 milligrams of caffeine and the average energy drink has 160 milligrams of caffeine.

The new candy bar also contains energy-recharging B-vitamins and taurine, Mars said.

The rest of the candy bar has the same ingredients -- peanut butter nougat covered in peanuts and caramel, then coated in milk chocolate.

The candy maker claims the new Snickers Charged bars are a low glycemic index (GI) food, saying the combination of carbohydrate, protein and fat in a Snickers Bar provides a slower release of energy and has a stable effect on blood sugar.
