regained the mount on Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird. Smith has a two-
race commitment to ride the gelding starting with the West Virginia Derby on
Saturday, August 1.
Morning-line favorite Well Said, driven
by Ron Pierce, made a charge coming off the final turn to win Saturday's
running of the $1.5 million North America Cup at Mohawk Racetrack. The three-
year-old colt paced the mile in 1:48 1/5.
