Illness Ends Somebeachsomewhere Career

Dover, DE (Sports Network) - Leading Horse of the Year candidate Somebeachsomewhere has been scratched from Monday's Matron Stakes elimination race at Dover Downs due to illness. Somebeachsomewhere, owned by the Schooner Stables and trained by Brent MacGrath, won the $500,000 Breeders Crown pace at The Meadowlands on Saturday, November 29 by 1 3/4 lengths over Shadow Play in 1:48 3/5, it was the fastest in the race's history.

Beginning next year the colt will stand as a stallion at Hanover Shoe Farms in Pennsylvania.
