BOSTON -- Here's a pleasant thought -- 27,000 dentists have converged on Boston at the 29th annual Yankee Dental Congress at the Hynes Convention Center.
NewsCenter 5's Rhonda Mann reported that it's a place where the nation's top teeth men and women can brush up on all the latest technology. The show outfits dentists with the latest gadgets to stay sharp in the field. A new laser won't cut fingers, but can cut through a tooth without any pain.
"Patients are able to get their teeth filled, their cavities filled without having to have a shot, an injection or anesthesia, so no numb lip dentistry," Biolase spokesman Dr. Chris Owens said.Speaking of pain, there's something new if you wake up with it."A vast majority of migraine patients clench their teeth and clench their teeth 14 times harder than a normal patient does," NTI-TSS spokesman Bob Weber said.A new toothguard is proven to prevent migraines. Smaller than other guards, it keeps your jaw stress free while you sleep.A lot of emphasis was placed this year on teaching kids how to sink their teeth into good dental health."This tooth brush would make it hard for a toddler say to insert too far and hurt the soft palette or any tissues inside the mouth," Toothpix spokeswoman Evelyn Perreault said. There's even a way to clean your infant's gums, right at your fingertips."As soon as they've got teeth, they're ready to see the dentist, and now we've got a way to fit them properly in the dental seat," Kavo America spokesman Curt Scott said. It's good news to help create that special bond that can lead to a lifetime of smiles.
